Active Senior Involvement

Residents Giving Back to the Community

Residents Lend Time and Talents to Volunteer Roles

Volunteering plays a big role in the life of residents, and it gives them the chance to use their skills and experience to give back to the community. Many find volunteering personally gratifying, and it can help you make new friends and create opportunities for fun. In addition to volunteering on campus at the VOLShop or in the Health Center, opportunities are also available at local museums, schools, hospitals, hospice organizations, Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, Lighthouse Ministries, Salvation Army, Talbot House, Seniors vs. Crime, and many more. A resident survey revealed FPH residents volunteer over 44,000 hours annually on and off campus!

Residents interested in volunteering should call Volunteer Coordinator Jack Allyn, 904-868-0729.

Students or others wishing to volunteer at Florida Presbyterian Homes should call Dean of Residents Etta Owens, 863-577-6027, or visit our volunteer page.
