Community Update – December 18th

. Posted in FPH

Hi Family & Friends,

We look forward to hosting a Christmas Social this Sunday for those that have RSVP’d. Now we hope for good weather. Please be aware that we will need to cancel if it is raining. I am pleased to give a good report today on test results, PPE, and the COVID vaccine. We have much to be grateful for here at FPH while the positivity rate keeps climbing. Please make sure that we continue to mitigate the spread of this virus by wearing masks, social distancing, hand hygiene, and small gatherings (preferably outdoors) during the Holidays.

I am happy to report that all employees tested negative again this week. All residents were negative last week and test results from yesterday are pending. We received a delivery of mask and gowns today from The Department of Health.

A note from Joe Xanthopoulos, Executive Director/CEO: “’The end of COVID-19 is in our sight!’ Today, we were informed that the first COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for our Porter McGrath residents and team members will be next week. This is the first wave of the Phase One vaccine rollout. The Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, according to the CDC and FDA review, is 95% effective and has not displayed any major safety risk to those who receive the vaccine beyond possible minor symptoms that last a few hours to two days…Walgreens has provided a website answering questions you may have regarding the vaccine www.walgreens.com/covidvaccine…We now have the opportunity to take part in actively ending the pandemic by receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. We look forward to the next wave of Phase One when Assisted Living residents and staff will have an opportunity to receive the vaccine. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for the well-being of our residents.”

May you and your household stay safe and be blessed,

Maria Rivera, Administrator
